Lower Pacuare (class 3-4)

River Trip Length- 22 Kilometers
Duration of Trip- Approximately 4-6 hours
Description- Continuous class 3 at normal to low flows with a few class 4 rapids that sometimes become solid 4´s at medium to high flows. Relatively isolated canyon, especially after first quarter of the trip. Excellent riverside camping and lodging facilities available and side hikes to secret swimholes and rockslides worth stopping for. Popular commercial rafting section considered one of Costa Rica´s most important tourist destinations for adventure and lodging.

Pejibaye El Humo
Starting point- El Humo, Turrialba
Finishing point- Oriente, Turrialba
River Trip Length- 8 Kilometers
Duration of Trip- Approximately 2-3 Horas
Description Techical class 2-3 at normal flows, becoming solid 3 at higher flows. Relatively shallow river with lush rainforest vegetation forming canopy over entire river during first half of the trip. River runs parrallel to main road for easy access and evac situation making it an excellent warm-up river for experienced paddlers and the perfect section for beginner boaters.

Pejibaye Los Leones
Add half kilometer to the regular 'El Humo' section of the Pejibaye including 2 solid class 4 rapids just after put-in.

Super Pascua Reventazon
Starting point- San Martin, Turrialba

River Trip Length- 25 Kilometers
Duration of Trip- Approximately 4-6 horas
Description- Continuous class 3-4 rapids at normal flows, big class 4+ at high water levels. Excellent advanced whitewater for river running as well as play boating including big waves, strong eddy lines and sticky holes. Excellent section to raft with an experienced class 5 guide.

Orosi River

Duration of Trip- Approximately 2-3 Horas
Description Only worth running at medium to high flows, although definitely class V at higher flows, beware of flash floods. This section features steep vertical drops that require precise paddling. Excellent high mountain scenery although the water is a bit cooler than most rivers. Other attractions include nearbyh hot springs nearby and the Tapanti Wildlife Refuge.

Upper Pacuare

Duration of Trip- Approximately 3-5 hours.
Description The 'Upper' offers solid class 4+ rapids at low to medium levels, becoming class 4-5 at medium to high flows. Beautiful and remote jungle river down a vertical continous gorge including tight passages, big boofs and the famous Bobo falls. Similar to the lower section this upper run features amazing jungle scenery from beginning to end.

Chirripo Atlantico

Duration of Trip- Approximately 2-3 Days
Description This remote river runs down a spectacular and completely inaccessible gorge offering class 4-5 rapids at lower levels and class 5+ at medium to higher flows. This river trip requires a minimum of two days and access to the put-in involves a bit of trail hiking and horseback support.

Full day charter gear and passenger van $150
Includes driver and fuel, capacity for 8 paddlers including kayaks and gear.
A full day is based on an 8-hour schedule.
Kayak and Rafting Guides
Full Day Class 2-4 $100 per day.
Full Day Class 5 $150 per day.
1 guide recommended per every 3 kayakers.
Guides include advanced class V boaters with experience leading day trips and multi-day expeditions. Guides come equipped with rescue tow-systems on their pfd's.
All CRKT guides are fully bilingual, certified in advanced kayak rescue technique, swift water rescue, first aid and CPR.
Rafting Equipment Rentals
Full Day $125
including pfd's, paddles, pump and repair kit.
CRKT offers top of the line self-bailing rafts for 2 to 8 persons maximum. Raft rentals come equipped with coast-guard approved type V life vests, helmets and paddles.
